The Barren County girls’ golf team opened its season Monday at The Pearl Club in Owensboro. The Trojanettes, with four of their top five returning, finished fourth with a 349 team total score.
Chloe Witcher led the way with a 79, while Lucy Zalla shot 82, Kinsey Edwards fired 93, and Tinsley Neagle finished with a 95. Those four rounds were used to calculate the team score. Karden Kinslow finished with a 112, while Alli Spillman and Rayleigh Tarry each shot 108.
South Warren, led by Elsie Espinola’s 1-over 73, captured the team title with a 323. Bowling Green was second with a 325. Both play in Region 3 along with Barren.
Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds won the individual title with a 2-under 70.
Also for South, Sydney McClanahan shot 79, while Stell Forney fired 82, Riley Miller posted 89 and Hannah Cassady finished with 94.
For Bowling Green, Caroline Childers shot 78, Jenna Harston fired 79, MaryDouglas Childers posted 81, Amy Tomblinson shot 87, and Rheagan Gathright finished with 113.
