Against some of the top boys’ golf teams in western Kentucky, Glasgow’s Griffin Jackson tied for fourth with a 1-over 73 at The Cullan at Mineral Mounds on Saturday. The event serves as a preview for the upcoming first round of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association state tournament. This section features teams from regions 1 through 4. Glasgow competes in Region 3.
The Scotties shot 352 as a team. Regular No. 2 Tate Pace remains out of the lineup with an injury. After Jackson, Harrison Belcher shot 88, Wilder Pate fired 92, Jackson Norris shot 99 and Tucker Garrett finished with a 109.
McCracken County won the preview with a 304, two strokes ahead of Taylor County (306) and three under Owensboro (307).
Landon Hunt won the individual title with a 1-under 71.
The first round of the state tournament is set for Sept. 30 at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club. The Region 3 Tournament is Sept. 23 at Indian Hills Country Club.
