Glasgow’s Griffin Jackson shot a 4-over 75 on Monday in the Boys’ Region 3 Golf Tournament. The round left him tied for seventh as an individual, and qualified him for the first round of the Kentucky High School Athletics Association State Tournament next Monday, Oct. 30, at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
At Indian Hills Country Club on Monday, Allen County-Scottsville’s Barton Rutledge won the individual title after beating Greenwood’s Layton Richey in a one-hole playoff. Both shot 4-under 67 through 18 holes. Greenwood won the team title with a 294, while Bowling Green was second with a 298. The top two teams and top 10 individuals not on one of those teams qualified for next week’s tournament.
Glasgow finished ninth as a team with a 329. After Jackson, Tate Pace shot 81, Harrison Belcher fired an 83, Tucker Garrett posted a 90 and Sam Allen finished with a 95.
Barren County finished 10th as a team with a 333. Braeden Furlong led the Trojans with a 79, while JP Ross fired an 83, Jay Houchens shot 84, Cameron Pippen posted an 87, and Jacob Spence finished with a 90.
