WEST POINT, Miss. – WKU women’s golf wrapped up the second round of play at The Ally on Tuesday at Old Waverly Golf Club and sits in eighth place with 18 holes remaining. The Lady Tops are at 18-over 594 through 36 holes in a field that includes Florida, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Indiana.
Former Glasgow golfers Nina McMurtrey shot 78 on Day 1 and 76 on Day 2, and is 10-over par total. She nailed a pair of birdies in the first round, and dropped in an eagle on the Par-5 ninth hole Tuesday. It was the Lady Tops’ first eagle of the week.
“We are looking to finish strong tomorrow and wrap up our fall schedule on a high note. This event has been a great challenge for our team and a great opportunity to compete against many Power Four schools this week and we can’t wait for 18 more chances tomorrow,” Head coach Adam Gary said.
