Glasgow’s boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed in the 2A Championships Section 2 at Park Mammoth Golf Club on Monday. Two of their golfers qualified for the 2A State Tournament next month in Owensboro.
Griffin Jackson for the Scotties shot 72 to make the state cut, while Emory Gardner fired 92 for the Lady Scotties to qualify for the state tournament at Owensboro Country Club on Sept. 9.
The Glasgow boys finished fourth as a team. After Jackson, Tate Pace fired 77, Harrison Belcher shot 83, Sam Allen scored 100 and Tucker Garrett finished with 106.
Allen County-Scottsville won the boys’ team title with a 299. The Patriots’ Eli Stamper was medalist with a 5-under 65.
Zach Sloan of Hart County shot 74 to qualify for state.
For the Glasgow girls’ team, after Gardner, Harlow Bale fired 104, Reese Chaney shot 118, Aria Harper posted a 140 and Gracie Bale finished with a 144.
ACS made it a clean sweep of the tournament as the Lady Patriots captured the team title, and Ella Anderson won a scorecard playoff with teammate Kennedy Carter to capture the individual title. They each shot 84.
Abigail Hogg of Edmonson County shot an 87 to qualify for state.
