The Barren County’s girls’ golf team hit the road to Hopkinsville on Tuesday to compete at the site where the girls’ Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s first round of the state golf tournament will be played.
The Trojanettes finished fifth at Hopkinsville Country Club with a team total 350. Marshall County captured the team title with a 306, while Bowling Green, which plays in Region 3 with Barren, edged Daviess County by a stroke — 321 to 322 — for second and third, respectively. Henderson County was fourth with a team total score of 338.
Chloe Witcher led Barren with an 85, while Lucy Zalla shot 87, Kinsey Edwards posted an 88, Tinsley Neagle shot 90, and Karden Kinslow finished with a 91.
Katie Roberts of Marshall County won the individual title with an even-par 71. Claire Reynolds of Daviess County and AnnaMae Atcher of North Hardin finished one stroke back.
The Trojanettes are scheduled to return to action Saturday at Eagles Nest Country Club in the Pulaski County Invitational.
