In the second tennis meeting of the season, Glasgow swept Barren County in both the boys’ and girls’ matches.
In boys’ singles, Hudson Woodie topped Hayden Boomer 6-2, 6-2; while Kasan Peters blanked Colton Boone 6-0, 6-0; and Hudson Stahl beat Oscar Casas, 6-1, 6-1, to give the Scotties a 3-0 edge in singles.
In boys’ doubles, Max Hughes and Nick Bower teamed to beat John Edberg and Alan Edberg, 6-0, 6-2.
Barren won the final boys’ doubles when Riley DeGroft and Landen Hensley teamed to beat Jackson Barrick and JaCovin Kendall, 8-3.
The girls’ match was closer. In singles, Barren’s Addyson McFall downed Lily Sowers, 6-2, 6-0, while Glasgow’s Kiley McKinney rallied to beat Ann Ashley Atkinson, 1-6, 6-4 (10-8). Glasgow swept the other two singles: Jamesanna Soto beat Rebecca Boone 8-4, and Jadie Stahl downed Natalie Somerville, 8-0.
In girls’ doubles, Barren’s Madeline Prichard and Lauren Neville teamed to beat Josie Bowling and Hannah Younkin, 6-1, 6-0; and Glasgow’s Callie Schmidt and Gracin Burd teamed to beat Katie Beth London and Emily Adams, 6-5, 7-6 (7-1).
In other doubles, Barren’s Aleigha Nuetzman and Caroline London teamed to beat Audra Austin and Korah Jones 9-7, while Reagan Griffiths and Avery Norris beat DaNiya Wooten and Raegan Blair, 8-5.
Glasgow won the final two girls’ doubles. Norah Underwood and Ellie Bell downed Maylyn Ballard and Lauren Gatewood, 8-5; while Gracie Kenney and Zoey Johns beat Avery Chapman and Kylie Lessenberry, 8-3.
